Edit Group Assignments
When you need to modify which groups are members of a Management Role, you can add or remove group assignments. This allows you to control access by assigning entire groups to roles rather than managing individual user assignments, simplifying administration for team-based access control.
Access Requirements: You must have appropriate permissions to manage the specific Management Role you want to modify.
Use this workflow when organizational teams change, when you need to grant or revoke role access for entire groups, or when streamlining role assignments by using group memberships instead of individual assignments.
Before You Start
You need access to the Resource Admin application to edit group assignments. If you can't access this workflow, contact your administrator to request permissions.
Make sure you have:
- Knowledge of which groups should have access to the Management Role
- Understanding of how group assignments will affect current and future group members
- Decisions about which groups to add or remove from the role

What Happens Next
- Group assignment changes may generate business requests that require approval before taking effect.
- Once changes are applied, all current and future members of the assigned groups will automatically receive the Management Role.
- Removing group assignments will cause all group members to lose the Management Role once the change is applied.
- New users added to assigned groups will automatically receive the Management Role.
If You Run Into Problems
Can't find the group to assign: Verify the group exists in the system and you have permission to assign it to Management Roles.
Changes affect too many users: Group assignments apply to all current and future group members. Review group membership carefully before making assignments.
Group assignment creates conflicts: Consider whether group members already have conflicting role assignments that might cause issues.
