Edit Management Role Assignments
When you need to bundle Management Roles together or modify existing role combinations, you can add or remove Management Role assignments. This creates role bundles where assigning one role automatically grants additional roles, streamlining access management for users with multiple responsibilities.
Access Requirements: You must have appropriate permissions to manage the specific Management Role you want to modify.
Use this workflow when creating role bundles for users with multiple responsibilities, adding complementary roles to existing assignments, or removing role combinations that are no longer needed.
Before You Start
You need access to the Resource Admin application to edit Management Role assignments. If you can't access this workflow, contact your administrator to request permissions.
Make sure you have:
- Knowledge of which Management Roles should be bundled together
- Understanding of how role combinations will affect user permissions
- Decisions about which roles to add or remove from the bundle
Get Started
- Navigate to the Resource Admin portal.
- Select Management Roles from the resource type menu.
- Click the Workflows tab.
- Find and click Manage Management Role Wizard.

- Select the Management Role you want to modify by checking the box next to it, then click Next.

- Select Edit Management Role Assignments from the available actions.

- Click Next to proceed.
The workflow will open showing the current Management Role assignments.
Update Management Role Assignments

Modify the Management Role assignments as needed:
Remove Management Role Assignments (if any exist):
Note: This screen does not appear if the role does not have any current Management Role assignments.- Current bundled roles are displayed in a table with Remove/Keep options.
- Use the search functionality to find specific roles to remove.
- Click Remove to delete a role from the bundle or Keep to retain it.
- Click Next to proceed to adding new assignments.
Add Management Role Assignments (optional):

- Use the search field to find specific roles, or click the dropdown arrow for advanced search options.
- Check the box next to the Management Role you want to bundle with this role.
- Repeat as needed to add multiple roles.
- Skip this section if you only want to remove existing assignments.

Click Submit to apply the Management Role assignment updates.
Complete the Workflow
- Review the Operation Execution Summary to confirm your changes were applied successfully:
The summary shows the specific Management Role assignments that were added or removed. - Click Submit to continue.
- Choose your next action:
- Do you want to manage the same Management Role? - Select this to perform additional actions on the same role.
- Do you want to manage different Management Role(s)? - Select this to work with other Management Roles.
- Do you want to finish the workflow? - Select this to complete the process and exit the wizard.
- Click Submit to proceed with your selected option.
What Happens Next
- Management Role assignment changes may generate business requests that require approval before taking effect.
- Once changes are applied, users who currently have this role will automatically receive or lose the bundled roles based on your modifications.
- Future assignments of this role will include all bundled Management Roles.
If You Run Into Problems
Can't find the Management Role to bundle: Verify the role exists and you have permission to assign it.
Changes affect too many users: Management Role bundles apply to all current and future assignments. Review the impact carefully before removing roles from established bundles.
Role bundling creates circular references: Avoid bundling roles that already include this role to prevent circular assignments.
